Amgen Foundation Science and Biotechnology Scholars Program
Deadline: February 1, 2008
Description: The Amgen Scholars Program provides undergraduates with the opportunity for hands-on research at a leadeing university to explore an area of research under a faculty mentor beyond what they may be able to do as part of their regular undergraduate education. Financial support for students is a critical component of the program, which aims to ensure that eligible students, regardless of their financial status, are able to participate. National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Programs (SURF)
Deadline: February 25, 2008
Description: Two application opportunities exist (Gaithersburg and Boulder) for this undergraduate research fellowship, in which Program Directors will work with department chairs, outreach coordinators, and directors of multi-disciplinary academic organizations to identify outstanding undergraduates (including graduating seniors) who would benefit from off-campus summer research in a world-class scientific environment. National Education Association (NEA), Grant Opportunities for Teacher Professional Development and Innovative Project-Based Learning
Deadline: February 1, June 1, and September 15
Description: Applications are reviewed three times per year, every year. Learning & Leadership grants will fund high-quality professional development experiences, collegial study, or mentoring experiences. Innovation grants will provide support for collaborative efforts to develop creative project-based learning to boost student achievement.
