AT105: An Introduction to Drawing as Description and Invention
|
| |

Drawing is one of the earliest ways that humans used to communicate ideas. With all the technological advances we have made since the cave paintings of Lascaux, drawing remains one of the clearest and most direct ways to make certain types of thinking understood. This course will begin to provide the student with the means to describe the visible world, as well as, to depict that which exists only in the imagination. Course assignments, lectures, and demonstrations are designed to promote technical and aesthetic growth in students while also increasing their awareness of both the current and historical practice of drawing. This course will take the place of the AT 105 requirement for first-year art majors and minors.
