Stetson University
offers several types of scholarships, including academic, music, and athletic
scholarships. Academic scholarships range in amount from $1,000 annually to
full tuition, room, meals, fees, and books. The average academic award for
students in 2006 was $12,000.
Music
Scholarships
Music scholarships may be
awarded to music majors, music minors, and non-music majors, although amounts
vary greatly. Students who wish to be considered for a music scholarship must
audition with the School of Music. To schedule an audition, please complete

Athletic
Scholarships
Students interested in
athletic scholarships should contact the individual coach for the sport they
wish to play or the Athletics
Department at 386.822.8120.
Scholarships are extremely competitive and vary in amount.
State
of Florida Scholarships
To be considered for
state-funded scholarships, you must be a Florida resident according to the
State of Florida's conditions of eligibility. Please refer to the FRAG
Condition Sheet for residency
requirements.
Florida
Bright Futures Program
The Bright Futures is an
umbrella program consisting of three state-funded scholarships: the Florida
Academic Scholars Award, the Florida Medallion Scholars Award, and the Florida
Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award. A student may receive only one of the
three awards. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must:

be a Florida resident
-
be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
-
earn a standard Florida high school diploma or
complete a state-approved home education program
-
be accepted and enroll at an eligible Florida
public or private university
-
be enrolled for at least six hours per semester
-
not have been found guilty of or pled no contender
to a felony charge
-
apply during your last semester before high school
graduation
-
meet academic requirements for the specific award
A Florida
Financial Aid Application must be
submitted during your last year in high school. Students may apply online
beginning December 1 of their senior year of high school. This application
gives the Department of Education the permission to evaluate their high school
transcripts for eligibility of Bright Futures Scholarship.
The 2006-2007 Florida Academic Scholars Award is
valued at $3986 for the year. The Florida and Medallion/Gold Seal Award are
valued at $2540 per year if enrolled full-time.
Satisfactory academic progress is verified at the
end of each spring semester. Renewal requirements for the Florida Academic
Scholars Award include successful completion of six or more credit hours each
semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The Florida Medallion Scholars
and Gold Seal awards require the completion of at least six credit hours each
semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Transfer
Scholarships
This program awards
scholarships to community college transfer students who have earned at least a
3.5 GPA and have completed 40 semester hours at a community college.
