The Early Estimator

The Early Aid Estimator for 2010-2011 is now available!

The Early Estimator will address whether you may be eligible for scholarships or other forms of financial aid.  Participation is easy and it's free.  Simply complete the online form as accurately as possible.  A confidential analysis of this basic income and asset information will be completed by our staff.  We will estimate what you will be expected to contribute following guidelines of the federal government aid eligibility formula.

Once the above analysis is completed, we will determine your available funding options and develop your estimate of financial aid.  You should receive the award via e-mail within five working days.  Keep in mind that the Financial Aid Estimator is not a financial aid application, but a tool designed to assist you in determining the total amount of financial assistance you may be eligible to receive.  If your financial circumstances are at all unusual or complicated, please contact us for assistance in completing this form.

If you have been admitted for 2010-2011 and wish to apply for federal aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The 2010-2011 FAFSA can be completed online at http://www.fafsa.gov/ after January 1, 2010.  The priority deadline to submit the FAFSA is February 15th, 2010 for incoming freshman or transferred students and March 15th, 2010 for all other students.

Instructions for Dependent Students
The
Financial Aid Early Estimator Form is designed for U.S. Citizens (or permanent residents) who are single and are dependent on their parents for support. If you don't meet these criteria, please call us for more information.

The information on this form will be used to estimate your eligibility for student financial assistance for the 2010-2011 academic year. We have made it as brief and easy as possible. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that you will eventually complete collects a great deal more information with much more detailed instructions. If your financial circumstances are at all unusual or complicated, please
contact us for assistance in completing this form.

Divorced, Separated or Remarried Parents
The federal government has established detailed rules about whose resources must be reported in cases of divorce, separation, and remarriage. In brief, students must report the marital status, income, assets and other information of the parent who has custody plus that person's current spouse (student's step parent), if any. If you have questions about whose information to report, please contact us for advice.

In addition to the estimate student financial aid that Stetson University provides you, we encourage you to check with organizations in your community, and with your high school counselor to see if there are scholarships for which you are eligible to apply.  Student financial aid you receive from other sources must be reported to us and may require modification of our offer of aid.  Check out the Internet for Financial Aid Web Resources that contain free scholarship searches such as:
