Lawyer's Assistant Program - Application
Class Size
Applicants will be accepted on a first come, first accepted basis if they meet the requirements for the program. In order to maintain the quality of our program, our class size (our cohort) may be limited. Once we have determined the class limit has been met, other applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Application Process
Good programs require good candidates. In this regard, we suggest that candidates have a minimum of a high school diploma combined with at least two years' secretarial/administrative assistant experience and at least basic skills in Microsoft Office™. One may also apply with less work experience if the candidate has an associate's or bachelor's degree or is using this program for professional development.
Applicants must acknowledge they understand that any NALS certification may be revoked for any one of the following reasons:
- Conviction of a felony
- Determination by appropriate authority of the unauthorized practice of law
- Divulging the contents of any examination
- Falsification of information on application form
- Violation of the NALS Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility
- Individuals currently serving a prison term are ineligible to sit for any NALS certification examination.
