Graduate Programs in Teacher Education

Stetson University offers one of the most outstanding teacher education programs in the State of Florida. The mission of the Teacher Education Department is to develop creative and reflective practitioners capable of assuming leadership roles within culturally diverse educational settings in a rapidly changing world. The Department, in collaboration with the school and community, stresses a holistic program of individual development perceiving students as active inquirers and participants in their own growth.

The M.Ed program in Educational Leadership is designed to prepare educators for leadership positions in schools.  The courses frame the skills that are essential for careers in educational administration. All courses prepare students for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam and address the leadership competencies.  A modified program is available for those educators who have completed a master's, specialist, or doctorate degree.  The Educational Leadership offers the traditional program and the fast track program.

A Masters in Reading Education is also offered at Celebration. The Stetson Reading Program leads to a certification in reading and reading endorsement. A thirty hour Masters in Reading Education can be completed in 14 months. Students may take slow track which will result in obtaining the degree in two years. The program is state and nationally accredited by the FL DOE and NCATE. Since reading is a critical shortage area, part of the tuition is reimbursed by the FL DO.

Stetson University offers a Masters of Business Administration program here in Celebration. We began the program in the Summer of 2000. The MBA program is ideal for those already in management positions who wish to enhance their career opportunities. It is equally valuable for those in non-management positions who wish to prepare themselves for a career shift into management. The program has successfully served the new graduate and the person returning to academic work from a career.

Stetson offers its MBA evening program at Celebration, Florida. In Celebration, two courses are offered each semester so that the program can be completed in five semesters. Night classes are offered so that students holding full-time jobs can complete the full range of course requirements through evening study.

Executive MBA (EMBA), Celebration Campus

The Stetson University Executive MBA program leads to a Master of Business Administration Degree accredited by AACSB International. The EMBA brings together high-potential managers with faculty who are effective teachers, leaders in their academic fields, and experienced business managers. The select group of EMBA participants range from managers of large corporations to entrepreneurs and officers in small companies.

The EMBA offers professionals from any academic background a way to earn the MBA in less than two years while still working.
