Here are the answers to frequently asked questions about the MBA.

Stetson MBA courses run for a duration of eight weeks in an A/B semester format for the Fall and spring. Summer sessions run for 7 weeks each in an A/B format. Ex. Some classes will run from the beginning of the traditional spring semester for 8 weeks, and some will run for the second 8 weeks of the spring semester.

While some classes are asynchronous (no set times that you are required to be present in the online classroom, others do require presence during a set time period (synchronous). Synchronous courses meet primarily on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.

Yes. Some of our online courses have required times that you will need to be present in the online classroom. At the time of registration, these courses will be identified, allowing you to make plans to be available online on that evening.  Many of our online courses are entirely asynchronous or offer non-mandatory live online class sessions.

In-person courses have required times that you will need to be present in the classroom.

The online MBA can be completed in approximately 16 months of full-time courses (two to four courses a term) or 24 months of part-time courses (no more than two courses a term).

Currently, the MBA program offers three program start options.

  • Fall start - August
  • Spring start - January
  • Summer - May

Admission requirements vary depending on which program you wish to pursue. Please see the admissions page for more information. Please note that international students have additional application requirements; these requirements are outlined on the admissions page. We encourage all interested applicants to apply.

We accept admission applications on a rolling basis. For any given semester, we will accept applications up to 45 days prior to the start of that semester. However, we recommend applying early. If you would like to begin graduate studies in the summer or fall, you should apply at the start of the spring semester prior to the time you wish to begin your studies; applicants desiring spring entrance should apply at the beginning of the fall semester.

No. We do not require the GMAT/GRE as a criterion in our application evaluation process; however, GMAT scores are encouraged for candidates who wish to strengthen their credentials for admission.

No. We have designed the MBA program to accommodate students from all undergraduate backgrounds. The two foundation courses (SOBA 506 and SOBA 507) provide the background in accounting, business analytics, finance and statistics that you need to succeed in the MBA program.

Yes, we do require additional admissions materials from international students. Please visit the international admissions page to read a special note to international students. Among other things, we require evaluated transcripts and a TOEFL score of at least 79-80 IBT.

In some cases, we accept up to six graduate credits from an AACSB-accredited university towards your MBA. We require an official transcript at the time of application with the graduate-level courses shown as well as course descriptions. We may also require a syllabus in some cases. Potential transfer courses must have been completed with a grade of B or better. Each transfer decision is made on a case-by-case basis and follows specific guidelines set forth by the School of Business Administration. Please contact MBA admissions assistant director with any questions about transfer credit towards an MBA.

In addition, you should check with your employer to find out if they offer tuition reimbursement benefits. If you plan to utilize your company's tuition reimbursement plan, please notify the graduate business office so that we may better facilitate that process.

Stetson University is proud to have a 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Our MBA classes vary in size depending on the campus you attend and the program you pursue. However, our classes always foster one-on-one interaction with the professor as well as fellow graduate students.

All graduate students working toward a degree offered by the School of Business Administration are required to have a laptop or desktop computer, running either MacOS or Windows, that is equipped with internet access connectivity, a webcam, and capable of running the latest updated version of one of the following web browsers:

For online courses, students may use a laptop or desktop that is equipped with a webcam and internet access.

In-person courses require a laptop equipped with a webcam and Wi-Fi connectivity. Students may be required to bring their laptops to the classroom as needed by the instructors of the courses.
