| Q: | On what campuses is the MBA offered? |
| A: | Stetson University currently has 4 campuses – DeLand (main), Celebration, Gulfport (law), and Tampa (law). MBA courses are offered at DeLand, Celebration and Gulfport. MBA courses offered at Gulfport are primarily reserved for JD/MBA students. |
| Q: | When and where are the classes held? |
| A: |
In DeLand, MBA advanced level courses are offered Monday-Thursday evenings. Classes meet once a week; most classes begin at 6:00 PM. The School of Business Administration is based out of the DeLand campus in the Eugene M. & Christine Lynn Business Center, often referred to as the LBC. All DeLand MBA courses will be located in the LBC. In Gulfport, MBA advanced level courses are offered on Monday and Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:00 PM. All Campuses: Fall and Spring semesters are 12 weeks long with an optional 13th week for a final exam. Courses meet 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Summer semesters are shorter at only 8 weeks long with an optional 9th week for a final exam; therefore, the classes are longer and meet from 6:00 - 9:45 p.m. |
| Q: | How long does it take to complete your programs? |
| A: | The MBA program offered in DeLand is flexible. Some full-time students complete the program in as little as one year. The average part-time student (requiring little to no foundation coursework) completes the MBA program in two years. The MBA student (requiring little to no foundation coursework) solely attending classes in Celebration usually finishes the program in 18 months. Regardless of the program and campus you choose, all Graduate Business degrees must be completed within eight years of your first graduate class. While diplomas are issued three times per year, a commencement ceremony is only held in May. |
| Q: | Can I start the program in any semester? |
| A: | Yes. The Office of Graduate Business Programs has a rolling admissions policy. You may begin coursework in the fall, spring or summer semester. When you are ready to apply to a program, contact us if you are unsure about which upcoming semester you are eligible to start. |
| Q: | What are the admission requirements? |
| A: | Admission requirements vary depending on which program you wish to pursue. Please consult our Admissions page for more information. Please take notice of the special note to international students. We encourage all interested parties to apply. |
| Q: | When are the application deadlines? |
| A: | We accept admission applications on a rolling basis. For any given semester, we will accept applications up to 45 days prior to the start of that semester. However, we recommend applying early. If you would like to begin graduate studies in the Summer or Fall, you should apply at the start of the Spring semester prior to the time you wish to begin your studies (January, February); those desiring Spring entrance should apply in the beginning of the Fall semester (August, September). |
| Q: | Why does Stetson require a GMAT score? What is the minimum score? |
| A: | We require the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) as one criterion in our application evaluation process. In addition to being a proven indicator of academic success, requiring a GMAT score is important to maintain our prestigious AACSB International Accreditation - the highest accreditation for which a business school can strive. Stetson University is pleased to have accreditation in both our business and accounting programs. Applicants should have a satisfactory score on the GMAT for consideration into Stetson’s Graduate Business Programs; particular programs and/or applicants may require higher scores. Applications must be completed in full before an admission decision can be made. We cannot tell you exactly what role your GMAT score will have in the decision process until we are able to look at all required application components. |
| Q: | Must I have an undergraduate degree in business? |
| A: | No! We have designed the MBA program to accommodate those students without an undergraduate degree in business. In most instances, an MBA nicely compliments an undergraduate degree in a different field of study. We simply require that an undergraduate degree is complete from an accredited university and that official transcripts documenting all undergraduate study are sent as part of the application process. Students without a business degree will most likely require foundation coursework. |
| Q: | Are there any special requirements for international students? |
| A: | Yes, we do require additional materials from international students. Please visit the International Admissions page to read a special note to international students. Among other things, we require evaluated transcripts and a TOEFL score of at least 79-80 IBT. |
| Q: | After I apply, how long will it take before an admission decision is made? |
| A: | After all the application requirements are met, you will be notified of our decision right away. |
| Q: | Where should I send my application? |
| A: | Please send your application materials to: Office of Graduate Business Programs Stetson University School of Business Administration 421 N. Woodland Blvd. Unit 8398 DeLand, FL 32723 |
| Q: | Can I transfer graduate credits from other schools? |
| A: | In some cases, we accept up to six graduate credits from an AACSB-accredited university towards your MBA. We would need an official transcript with the graduate-level courses shown as well as course descriptions. We may also require a syllabus in some cases. Potential transfer courses must have been completed with a grade of B or better. Each transfer decision is made on a case by case basis and follows specific guidelines set forth by the School of Business Administration. |
| Q: | Do you offer financial aid? |
| A: | Financial Aid information may be found here. They may also be contacted at finaid@stetson.edu or (386) 822-7120 or 1-800-688-7120. In addition, you should check with your employer to find out if they offer tuition reimbursement benefits. If you do plan on utilizing your company’s tuition reimbursement plan, please notify the Graduate Business Office so that we may better facilitate that process. |
| Q: | What is the typical class size? |
| A: | Stetson University is proud to have a 12:1 student to faculty ratio. Our MBA classes vary in size depending on the campus you attend and the program you pursue. However, our classes always foster one-on-one interaction with the professor as well as fellow graduate students. |
| Q: | Can I visit the school? |
| A: | Sure! Please contact Kathy Hannon at khannon@stetson.edu to schedule a time, and we will make arrangements for a meeting. The Graduate Business Office may be contacted at (386) 822-7410. |
