Q. What Graduate Business Programs are offered at the various Stetson
campuses?
A. Stetson
University currently has 4 campuses – DeLand (main),
Celebration, Gulfport (law), and Tampa
(law). MBA
courses are offered at DeLand, Celebration, and Gulfport.
If you wish to study full time, you must attend the DeLand campus. Part time
students may attend DeLand or Celebration. MBA courses offered at Gulfport
are reserved for JD/MBA
students. The
MAcc program is only offered in DeLand and may be pursued
full time or part time.
Q. When and where are the classes
held?
A. MBA Advanced
Level Courses are offered Monday-Thursday during the
evening in DeLand. We strive to offer MAcc
students classes later in the day, but the schedule may vary. The School
of Business Administration
is based out of the DeLand campus in the Eugene
M. & Christine Lynn Business Center (often referred to as
the LBC). All MBA and MAcc courses will be
located in the LBC. MBA courses in Celebration are offered at StetsonUniversity’s
Celebration
Center on Monday and Tuesday
evenings.
Q. How long does it take to complete
your programs?
A. The MBA and MAcc programs
offered in DeLand are flexible. Some full time students can complete the
program in approximately one year. The average part time student (requiring
little to no foundation coursework) completes the MBA program in two years.
The MBA student (requiring little to no foundation coursework) solely
attending classes in Celebration should finish the program in 18 months.
Q. Can I start the program in any
semester?
A. Yes. You may begin coursework
in the fall, spring or summer semester.
Q. What are the admission
requirements?
A. Admission requirements vary
depending on which program you wish to pursue. Please
consult our Admissions
page for more information. Please take notice
of the special
note to international students. We
encourage all interested parties to apply.
Q. When are the application deadlines?
A. We accept admission
applications on a rolling basis. For any given semester, we will accept
applications up to 45 days prior to the start of that semester. However, we
suggest applying early. If you would like to begin graduate studies in the
Summer or Fall, you should apply at the start of the Spring semester prior to
the time you wish to begin your studies (January, February); those desiring
Spring entrance should apply in the beginning of the Fall semester (August,
September).
Q. Why does Stetson require a GMAT
score?
A. We require the GMAT
(Graduate Management Admissions Test) as one criterion in our application
evaluation process. In addition, requiring a GMAT score is important to
maintain our prestigious AACSB
International Accreditation - the highest accreditation for MBA programs.
StetsonUniversity
is pleased to have accreditation in both our business and accounting programs.
Q. Must I have an undergraduate
degree in business?
A. No! We have designed the MBA &
MAcc programs to accommodate those students without an undergraduate degree in
business. In most instances, an MBA nicely compliments an undergraduate degree
in a different field of study. We simply require that an undergraduate degree
is complete from an accredited university and that official transcripts
documenting all undergraduate study are sent as part of the application
process.
Q. Are there any special requirements
for international students?
A. Yes, we do require additional
materials from international students. Please visit the Admissions
page to access a special note to international applicants.
Q. After I apply, how long will it
take before an admission decision is made?
A. After all the application
requirements are met, you will be notified of our decision right away.
Q. Where should I send my application?
A. Please send your application
materials to:
Dr.
Frank DeZoort
Director
of Graduate Business Programs
StetsonUniversity
School
of Business Administration
421
N. Woodland Blvd. Unit
8398
DeLand,

Q. Can I transfer graduate credits
from other schools?
A. We can accept up to 6 graduate
credits from an accredited university towards your MBA or MAcc.
Q. Do you offer financial aid?
A. Financial
Aid information may be found
on the Financial Aid department’s page dedicated for graduate students. They
may also be contacted at finaid@stetson.edu
or (386) 822-7120 or 1-800-688-7120. In addition, you should check with your
employer to find out if they offer tuition reimbursement benefits. If you do
plan on utilizing your company’s tuition reimbursement plan, please notify the
Graduate Business Office so that we may better facilitate that process.
Q. What is the typical class size?
A. Stetson
University is proud to have a
12:1 student to faculty ratio. Our MBA classes vary in size depending on the
campus you attend and the program you pursue. However, our classes always
foster one-on-one interaction with the professor as well as fellow graduate
students.
Q. Can I visit the school?
A. Sure! Please contact our
office to schedule a time and we will make arrangements for a meeting. The
Graduate Business Office may be contacted at (386) 822-7410.
