The Family Business program is primarily recommended
for students who meet one or more of the following criteria:

Student’s family owns a business.

Student is considering working with another family
enterprise.

Student is considering starting a family
enterprise.

Student is considering
being a professional advisor and understands the majority of his or her
clients will be family enterprises.
A Major or Minor in Family
Business is interdisciplinary, experiential, and involves extensive interaction
with professionals in family enterprise. The benefits of enrolling in the major
or minor include increased credibility and marketability.
The goals
of the FEC and its faculty include:

Establishing family business as a legitimate,
distinct, interdisciplinary academic field.
