Accounting
- ATG 211 Introduction to Financial Accounting (REQUIRED 1 Unit). Financial Accounting with emphasis on the concepts and standards for financial reporting in corporate accounting. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing
- ATG 212 Introduction to Management Accounting (REQUIRED 1 Unit). Introduction to uses of accounting data for planning, control and decision making. Prerequisite: ATG 211.
Finance
- FIN 301 Introduction to Personal Finance (1 Unit). The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the basics of personal finance. An introduction will be given to budgeting, financial goal setting, insurance concepts, and retirement and estate planning. Students will be given information on how to seek help from financial professionals and sources for more advanced information on financial planning.
- FIN 303 Money & Financial Institutions (1 Unit). A study of the role of money and the flow of funds in the financial process and their relationship to the U.S. and international financial systems. The course will also cover financial institutions and the characteristics of the main financial markets. Prerequisite: ECON 103.
- FIN 307 Business Economics (FIN 307 or macroeconomics is REQUIRED 1 Unit). A fundamental course in the business aspects of both macro and micro-economics with specific focus on the relations between financial decision making, the economy and consumers.
- FIN 311 Business Finance (REQUIRED 1 Unit). An introduction to corporate finance from the viewpoint of the financial manager. Major topics include the fundamental concepts, financial theory, time value of money, cash flow valuation, stocks and bonds, capital budgeting and risk and return. Prerequisite: ATG 211, ECON 103 and STAT 301.
