Ekaterina Levintsova was named the ourstanding Russian Studies graduate for 2006 and received the Zenkovsky Award in its inaugural year. Katya's senior project is titled "Beslan: An Analysis of Russia’s Response to the School Hostage Crisis, the Justifications of the Attackers, and the Historical
Trends of Russo-Chechen Conflict."

She is pictured here with Mrs. Betty Jean Zenkovsky, who provided the endowment for the award, which is named in memory of Dr. Serge Zenkovsky, who created the Russian Studies program at Stetson University in 1958.
