B.A. or B.S. Degree Requirements
(These requirements apply to all first year students enrolling in the fall semester of 2006 through the present.)
GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The student must complete the general education requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences for either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree.
LOWER-DIVISION MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
Psychology 101 - Introduction to Psychology Psychology 201 - Personality Psychology 203 - Great Experiments in Psychology Biology 101 and 102 Management Information Systems 191 or Computer Science 101
UPPER-DIVISION RESEARCH SEQUENCE
Psychology 321 - Behavioral Statistics Psychology 322 - Research Methods Psychology 323 - Senior Project
UPPER-DIVISION FOUNDATIONS COURSES
Any four of the five foundations courses:
Psychology 305 - Cognitive Psychology Psychology 312 - Abnormal Psychology Psychology 313 - Child Psychology Psychology 333 - Social Psychology Psychology 382 - Biological Psychology
OTHER PSYCHOLOGY COURSES
B.A candidates must take at least one additional Psychology course of their own choosing. B.S. candidates must take at least two additional Psychology courses of their own choosing. Especially if you are planning to attend graduate school, you should consult carefully with your advisor about selecting these elective courses and perhaps others.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES OF THE B.A. AND B.S. DEGREE PROGRAMS IN PSYCHOLOGY
B.A. candidates are limited to a maximum of 42 hours of Psychology courses; B.S. candidates may take up to 50 hours if they like.
B.A. candidates must take or exempt two semesters of a foreign language; B.S. candidates must take or exempt only one semester.
