In recognition of the importance of study abroad, Congress has designated 2006 as The Year of Study Abroad. To encourage students to participate in study abroad, a number of U.S. government-funded scholarships are available, such as Gilman, NSEP, and Fulbright. Several other governments and private organizations offer similar opportunities.
All state and federal financial aid and Stetson scholarships apply to Stetson Abroad programs.
Students planning to study abroad on non-Stetson programs should check with Student Financial Planning about the transfer of financial aid and scholarships to their program of choice. Also, be sure to pick up the leaflet on obtaining approval to earn credit in a non-Stetson Abroad program.
It is the responsibility of the student to inform him/herself about financial aid and scholarships for study abroad and to meet all requirements and deadlines.
