 GUANAJUATO SUMMER

Overview:

Declared a United Nations World Heritage Site in 1988, Guanajuato is one of the most charming cities in all of Mexico. Nestled in steep hills, the city enjoys a climate of eternal spring. Guanajuato is the home of the famous Cervantes Festival each fall and hosts cultural programs featuring well-known guest artists year round. There are also numerous museums.

Students take language-based courses in Spanish in the Centro de Idiomas at the University of Guanajuato during the months of June and/or July.

Excursions change each session but may include a visit to Mayan pyramids, Mexico City’s superb museums, or a horseback trip up a volcano, as well as cultural events in town.

All participants live with host families, allowing them to develop vernacular as well as academic second language skills.
