  • Greg Sapp

Greg Sapp joined the Stetson faculty in the fall of 2006 as the Hal S. Marchman Chair of Civic and Social Responsibility.  Sapp is a 1988 graduate of Stetson University with a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.  As Faculty Advisor of the Bonner Scholar Program and Chair of the Community Engagement Council, Sapp's role is "to focus on preparing students to be good citizens, to help them integrate values and academics.  It's what we all want to do as teachers."  You can discover more about Dr. Sapp and community engagement at Stetson, by going to the Community Engagement web page. 

  • Michele Skelton

Dr. Michele Skelton has been appointed the new Mark and Lynn Hollis Chair of Health and Wellness.  A faculty member at Stetson since 1993, and chair of the Department of Integrative Health Science, Dr. Skelton will lead the University's Health and Wellness Council.  Dr. Skelton is a Stetson grad with a Ph.D. from Auburn University.  "Health care is moving toward integrative medicine" Skelton said, "...we are training students to be the health care leaders of the future."  You can discover more about Dr. Skelton and the Integrative Health Science Department at Stetson, by going to the Integrative Health Science web page.

  • Matt Roberts

Matt Roberts, Associate Professor of Digital Arts at Stetson University received his Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Roberts is a new media artist specializing in real-time video performance and new media applications.  His work has been featured nationally and internationally.  He is the founder of MPG:  Mobile Performance Group.  You can discover more about Roberts, the Digital Arts Program and MPG, by going to the Digital Arts page or by watching this MPG video

  • Terri Witek

Terri Witek, Professor and Director of the Sullivan Creative Writing Program, teaches poetry workshops and literature classes specializing in poetry. An award-winning poet, she has published four collections of poetry—The Shipwreck Dress (2008), Carnal World (2006), Fools and Crows (2003), and Courting Couples (2000)—as well as a scholarly book on Robert Lowell's revisions.   • Anne Hallum

Anne Hallum, Professor of Political Science, began teaching at Stetson in 1987 after earning her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University.  An expert in American Government and Environmental Politics, Dr. Hallum is the founder and chair of the Alliance for International Reforestation (A.I.R.).  Since 1993, A.I.R., Inc., has reaised money to plant trees, establish tree nursery, dig wells and build fuel-efficient ovens in Guatemala.  Dr. Hallum created the organization after visiting Guatemala 16 years ago and meeting the villagers whom she describes as, "the most generous, hard working and spiritual people I have ever known".  You can discover more about Dr. Hallum and A.I.R., by going to Alliance for International Reforestation, Inc. web page.

  • Tony Abbott

Tony Abbott, Associate Professsor of Geography and Environmental Science, came to Stetson in 2005 and currently chairs the interdisciplinary Environmental Science program at Stetson.  In 2007-2008, Dr. Abbott led students in conducting Stetson's greenhouse gas audit as part of the American University and College President's Climate Committment initiative.  Each summer, Stetson's Latin American Studies Program leads a sponsored group of students on a mentored field experience in Latin America.  This summer, Dr. Abbott led the experience to Equador.  You can discover more about Dr. Abbott and the Latin American Studies Program, by going to the Hollis Mentored Field Experience web page or to Dr. Abbott's home page.
