SUMMER FREIBURG PROGRAM

The College of Arts and Sciences offers a unique educational and cultural experience with its Summer Freiburg Program. Students who welcome valuable international experiences but do not have the opportunity and/or time to do so during the semester, can take advantage of this 5-week program without interrupting their rigorous educational program at Stetson.

 

The program takes place at the Universityof Education(Pädagogische Hochschule, PH) in Freiburg, Germany. It is part of along tradition of academic exchanges between the two universities, its students and faculty. The program blends field trips, tours to major cities and the cultural setting into the course work. Students can choose from course offerings that meet their study goals in majors and/or fulfill general education requirements. Courses differ each year to provide greatest possible diversity including topics in Political Science, Art, German Studies, Religious Studies, Geography, Philosophy, Sociology, Theatre Studies more.

 

No prior German language knowledge is required. Courses are taught in English by distinguished Stetson professors.

 

The program is offered every year during the summer semester at the PH, from Mid-May to late June. This allows students to be immersed as much as possible in student life in Freiburg.

 

Freiburg's location in the Southwestern corner of Germany and in close proximity to France and Switzerland providesparticipants with plenty of opportunity to travel duringthree-day weekends.
