ENGLISH DEPARTMENT AWARDS FOR WRITING
C. Carter Colwell Award for Best Researched Essay
The award is given to the best researched essay written for an English course. To be eligible for this award, a student needs senior standing. Please submit only one essay for consideration.
William E. Taylor Creative Writing Award, for Best Portfolio of Creative Work
The award is given to the best portfolio of writings representing the student-author's best creative work, as well as its range and extent. To be eligible for this award, a student needs junior or senior standing. You should include more than one genre in your selection of work.
HUMANITIES DIVISION AWARD
Janet Howard Taylor Shakespeare Prize
The award is given to the best essay dealing with the writings of William Shakespeare or those of his contemporary dramatists in relation to Shakespeare. All Stetson undergraduates except previous winners are eligible. Please submit only one essay for consideration.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR ALL
To submit, please provide the work to be judgedwithtwo cover sheets: onewith your name, student ID #, email address, phone number, and the award title you are submitting for; and one with your student id# and the award title you are submitting for; (the name and student ID # should appear on no other pages of the submission.) Students' work is judged anonymously.
All submissions are due in the English Department Office by March 29, 2012 at 3pm

SULLIVAN CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM AWARDS
Academy of American Poets
Student Poetry Prize - Cash Award & One Year Membership to the Academy of American Poets
TO ENTER:
Please submit three (3) poems to the English Dept Office in Flagler Hall room 224 by March 29th, 2012 at 3pm. All student poets are eligible!
Please include two (2) cover sheets: one with title, writer's student id# only and one with title, writer's student id#, name, email address, phone number and home (permanent) address.

Genre: Fiction, Poetry, Creative Non-Fiction, Playwriting/Screenwriting
Writers may submit one entry in each genre. All entries should arrive with two (2) cover sheets: one with title, genre, and writer's student id# only and one with title, genre, writer's student id#, name, email address and phone number by March 29, 2012 at 3:00pm in the English Dept. Office, room 224 Flagler Hall.
