Literacy
The Institute focuses on providing training in literacy. The institute defines literacy as language, writing, reading, and mathematics, which meets the needs of a broad range of students. Through mini grants, professional development activities and statewide training programs University faculty partner with district faculty to provide workshops that show-case research-based approaches to literacy.
Activities have included:
- Gender specific pedagogy
- Summer literacy programs
- Hands-on mathematics workshops
- And After-school tutoring
