Dr. M. Jean Greenlaw is a Stetson graduate whose loyalty to her alma mater goes above and beyond. Dr. Greenlaw, a children's literature author, generously endows the Dorothy Ball Greenlaw Scholarship at Stetson in honor of her mother, who was a 1938 graduate of Stetson. Dr. Greenlaw also funds a biennial children's literature conference sponsored by the Department of Teacher Education.

The 6th Biennial M. Jean Greenlaw Children's Literature Conference will be held at Stetson University during Spring 2008.
More about Dr. Greenlaw: Dr. M. Jean Greenlaw received her bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education from Stetson University in 1962 and 1965. She went on to earn her doctorate at Michigan State University in 1970. Dr. Greenlaw is an expert in children's literature. Her experiences include:
- Regents Professor at the University of North Texas, Denton
- Contributor to the Houghton Mifflin Basal Reading Program
- Member of the 1982 Newbery Award Committee
