Lambda Pi Eta & the Communication Studies Society
About Lambda Pi Eta
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) has over 400 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities worldwide. LPH was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. LPH became a part of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988, and the official honor society of the NCA in July 1995. Founded in 2001, the goal of our chapter (Iota Tau) is to honor academic excellence in the field of communication studies and to foster growth within both the academic and professional careers of communication studies students and graduates.
LPH represents what Aristotle described in his book, On Rhetoric, as the three ingredients of persuasion: Logos (Lambda) meaning logic, Pathos (Pi) relating to emotion, and Ethos (Eta) defined as character, credibility, and ethics.

I play for the men's soccer team here at Stetson, and am a representative to the Stetson Student Athletic Advisory Committee. I have written for the school newspaper, The Reporter, as well as my own online blog.

I serve our Stetson's campus through Alpha Kappa Psi, Lambda Pi Eta, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Office of Alumni Engagement as Work Study. I also work for Blackstone Law Group as campus administrator and proctor for practice LSAT Tests. I look forward to my final victory lap at Stetson! Go Hatters!

Treasurer, Jewel Connelly: I am a senior Communication and Media Studies major with an Anthropology minor. In addition to being a part of Lambda Pi Eta, I am also a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Stetson's Top Hats dance team. In the fall of 2012 I interned at the Museum of Florida Art and was privileged to see the sculptures of internationally famous artist Duane Hanson. Some of my personal interests include English style horseback riding, sketching, and crafting personalized cards. I would love nothing more than to combine my love of horses with writing so I've recently considered the field of Equestrian sports writing.
Scholarship Officer, Camille Bodden: I am a Senior Communication & Media Studies major with a minor in Marketing. I am one of Stetson's numerous international students, hailing originally from Grand Cayman -- the largest island of the three Cayman Islands. I transferred to Stetson from a university in Colorado, giving me time to enjoy the beautiful Florida sunshine and meet the challenge of Stetson's strong academic expectations! I am a proud member of Lambda Pi Eta who has been a Dean's list student since arriving at Stetson two years ago. I hope to graduate with honors in May and to develop my career in the fields of Marketing or Public Relations. I enjoy nature writing, composing poetry, exploring Caribbean history, and most of all spending time with my Lambda Pi Eta family and friends!
