Letter from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Counselor Education at Stetson University. We hope this website is helpful to you as you consider our C.A.C.R.E.P.-accredited programs geared to providing quality learning for students both personally and professionally. In considering Stetson University, please consider the following questions:

  1. How do your interests match the requirements of various programs?
  2. Do you want to work with children? With individuals? Families? Couples? In a school setting? Private practice? Community Mental Health Clinic or Private Psychiatric Facility? Hospital? Private sector or Government?
  3. Where do you envision yourself in the next three to five years?

Please understand that counselor education graduate students need to have a good support system from their spouses, families or significant others. It will be important for you to integrate this support system with the one here at Stetson University, as it is a critical component for a successful experience. If we can provide you with any additional information please don't hesitate to contact us.
