ACS Certified Biochemistry Major
To earn the ACS-certified Biochemistry degree, students must complete the following courses:

Collateral Courses: Required courses for the Biochemistry major that are taught outside the chemistry department include:
Two semesters of Calculus:
- MATH 141 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry I
- MATH 142 - Calculus with Analytic Geometry II
Students who need "pre-calculus" must take the sequence MATH 130, MATH 131, MATH 142.
To semesters of Physics:
- PHYS 121 or PHYS 141 - College Physics I or University Physics I
- PHYS 122 or PHYS 142 - College Physics II or University Physics II
Two semesters of introductory Biology:
- BIOL 141 - Introductory Biology I
- BIOL 142 - Introductory Biology II
And two courses from the following list:
- BIOL 301 - Microbiology
- BIOL 302 - Genetics
- BIOL 320 - Cell Biology
- BIOL 420 - Molecular Biology
All Biochemistry majors will earn the ACS-certified degree.
