- General Biology (BY101-102)--The introductory biology courses usually completed in a student's freshman year. These courses cover the entire field of biology.
- Microbiology (BY301)--A survey of the prokaryotic organisms, especially bacteria, and their roles in various ecosystems and disease.
- Genetics (BY302)--An introduction to heredity including Mendelian genetics, population genetics, cytogenetics, and the nature of gene action.
- Ornithology (BY310)--The study of the design of birds, bird behavior, and the identification of Florida birds.
- Immunology and Hematology (BY314)--The study of the defense systems of mammals and birds, particularly inducible systems leading to antibody formation and the study of the components of blood and how they are measured.
- Radiation and Photobiology (BY421)--The general principles of nuclear and radiation physics, nuclear instrumentation, dosimetry, and radiotracer methodology as applied to health care and research.
