Africana Studies Program

The Africana Studies program offers three awardsalong with other awards offered bythe College of Arts and Sciences on Stetson's Campus.

Outstanding Senior in Africana Studies Award -

This award recognizes a senior for outstanding academic performance in Africana Studies witha monetary award. Students with senior standing at the beginning of the fall term are eligible.

The Bright House Book Award -

This is sponsored by Bright House Networks via the Africana Studies Program at Stetson University. Two students who declare a minor in Africana Studies or whom already mino in Africana Studies will be awarded a $500 book scholarship for the following academic year. The students will recieve $250 per semester to help with the purchase of books for any Stetson course.

Africana Studies Essay Competition -

The Africana Studies Programsponsors an Africana Studies Essay Competition. Five hundred dollars in prizes are awarded for first, second, and thrid, best essays. All undergaduate students currently enrolled at Stetson may enter the Africana Studies Program Essay Competition. To enter, each student must submit an essay written for the competition or for a class. All entries must be recieved by the deadline.
