AHEC
Our program is sponsored by North Florida AHEC, but they have programs all over the State. AHEC works to promote better health at a community-wide level through sponsoring tobacco cessation programs and educating health care professionals about ways in which they can help their patients to become tobacco-free. They provide us with funding so that we can have tobacco cessation programs on Stetson's campus, so that we can educate the Stetson commmunity about the dangers of second-hand smoke, and so that we can gather support for the transition to a tobacco-free campus. The funding makes our tobacco initiativbes programs possible and also provides salaries for a graduate assistant and several Tobacco Peer Educators who organize the programs and work on tobacco initiative projects.
