Vice President of Student Affairs
Christopher Kandus is Stetson's Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students. He began working at Stetson in the fall semester of 2010 as the dean of students. Recently promoted to vice president of Student Affairs, Kandus directs student services for the university across campuses and serves as the chief student affairs officer. At the DeLand campus, Kandus oversees the departments within Campus Life and ensures success and collaboration by providing oversight to the Student Success initiative. Kandus advances the mission of the university by providing strategic direction and vision to the division of Campus Life and Student Success (CLaSS). He works closely with students and serves as one of the primary advocates for students and their families. He leads the university's Crisis Management Response Team, ensuring that the campus community has a strong support system in place to respond to crises. Through his connection to the student body, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring excellence in all aspects of the student experience and proactively shaping the focus of the university experience by fostering a collaborative curricular and co-curricular experience.
Prior to coming to Stetson University, Kandus was the assistant dean in the Office of Campus Life at Babson College in Massachusetts. He earned his undergraduate degree at Ashland (Ohio) University, his master's degree in higher education with a concentration in administration from the University of Akron and is currently a doctoral candidate in higher education leadership at Nova Southeastern University.
When away from campus, he enjoys spending time with his spouse and their four year old son, who enjoys anything that has the Disney name on it.
