Transfer and Nontraditional Students

Welcome!

The Stetson University First Year and Transition Program is designed to support all students in their first year at university, especially transfers and nontraditional students.

Transfer Students

Annually, over 100 students transfer to Stetson from all over the world.  We know that starting at a new school can be stressful, so we're here to help you make a seamless transition both academically and socially.

Nontraditional Students

At Stetson, we use the term nontraditional student to refer to the members of our community older than 24. Nontraditional students are both unique and essential to the vibrancy of Stetson's student body. We in the First Year and Transition Program want to ensure you have all the resources you need to be successful in fulfilling your academic endeavors.

We begin this process during FOCUS Orientation, where all transfer and nontraditional students are in a FOCUS group together with a leader who is attuned to the group's needs. Download the orientation schedule for the transfer/nontraditional student population

At Stetson, transfer and nontraditional students quickly become involved in campus life and become active members and leaders in student organizations, academic organizations, athletics, club sports, greek life, community service programs and more.  Stetson is a welcoming community. We look forward to working with you.
