Hatter Trek Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to register?

Yes! That will secure your spot on the trip; let us know any special needs you have, enable us to send you updates and important information, and order your awesome HatterTrek T-shirt!

Can I drive myself?

Yes! You can park on campus for free during your Hatter Trek experience.

What if we need to stay overnight at Stetson the night before or the night we arrive back on-campus?

If your drive or flight arrangements make it necessary for you to stay overnight, just indicate that on the Registration Form and we will arrange accommodations for you on-campus. There is a small, $40 for each overnight accommodation.

What if I can no longer attend Hatter Trek?

By registering for the trip we have secured your space, and paid for your accommodations. We understand that extenuating circumstances may occur, so we will issue a full refund if we are able to fill your space before June 1. If we are unable to fill your space, or if it is after June 1, no refunds will be issued.

Will I need to bring any money?

Yes, dinner and breakfast are provided for each of the trips, however you will need money for lunch and snacks. Please see trip details for specific information. If you are arriving the night before, or staying after you are responsible for meals and transportation.

I have special dietary needs. Will this affect my trip?

Please let us know your needs on the registration sheet. Vegan, Gluten Free and Vegetarian needs will be easily accommodated, but please let us know if you are kosher so we can plan accordingly. Please e-mail Ana Maia at hattertrek@stetson.edu if you have any questions.

I'm flying into DeLand for my Hatter Trek experience. Should I let Stetson know?

If so, please e-mail hattertrek@stetson.edu with your flight information. Our staff will do our best to arrange pick-ups and drop-offs from the Orlando (MCO), Sanford (SFB) and Daytona (DAB) Airports. If you are staying overnight, you will be residing in one of our residence halls with a student-staff as well as a few new Hatters, like yourself.

If you are registering for the Costa Rica, Outdoor Adventure, please do not book you flight yet. After you register, our office will be in contact with you with more trip details.

I missed the application deadline. Can I still apply?

The trips will fill up quickly, but call Ana Maia in Student Development and Campus Vibrancy to see if there are any openings or to be put on the wait list! The number is 386-822-7319.
