Janie Graziani

Director of News and Media Relations

Janie is responsible for advancing Stetson University's brand and visibility with national and local media by identifying and publicizing people and programs that best illustrate Stetson University's image. Janie's "beat" includes the School of Business Administration, including the Center at Celebration and the natural and social sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. Janie also is Stetson University's key contact for the media in the event of an emergency.

In addition to working with the media, Janie works with Stetson Today to provide content, evaluate effectiveness and design/upgrade in consultation with Web Services and social media development. Janie also works with Creative Services to write/edit publications for schools and colleges in her area of responsibility, and serves on the university's Emergency Management Team, providing public relations counsel on emergency issues and guiding emergency communications.

Janie earned a masters degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining Stetson University, she worked at the national office of AAA in Heathrow, Fla., in social media and public relations. While there she launched AAA's social media sites on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and MySpace as well as other social media outlets. In addition, she wrote many of AAA's policies and procedures related to social media. In the public relations department at AAA, she was a spokesperson for the organization working with national media. In that capacity Janie won a Silver Anvil from the Public Relations Society of America (P.R.S.A.) for her work on AAA's 100th Anniversary publicity. Before joining AAA, Janie was a reporter and editor for newspapers and magazines and wrote frequently about travel and golf.

Mary Anne Rogers

Director of News and Public Relations

With 11 years of experience in public relations, Mary Anne is responsible for advancing Stetson University's visibility with internal and external constituents by identifying and publicizing people, programs and events that best illustrate the Stetson University brand. The coverage of Stetson's academic programs is divided between Mary Anne and colleague Janie Graziani. Reflective of her areas of interest, Mary Anne's "beat" includes the School of Music and the following areas within the College of Arts and Sciences: theatre arts, humanities, the arts, and teacher and counselor education programs.

As coordinating editor of Stetson Today, Mary Anne, in collaboration with Janie Graziani, contributes to the official news and information sites, including content generation, design, effectiveness evaluation and upgrade. This includes maintaining the online university calendar and campus informational announcements via Stetson Today. She also works with Creative Services on university publications and serves as the campus liaison for outside film production at Stetson University.

With a bachelor of arts degree from Florida State University, she worked for several years at another private university years prior to coming to Stetson University. She joined Stetson University in 1994, first in special events and then as the president's executive assistant for eight years before joining the public relations team in 2004. She is a member of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, and several community partnership boards. Mary Anne was awarded the university's Problem Solver of the Year and Community Service Council Member of the Year awards in 2003. While a member of Stetson University's public relations team, the office won several Image Awards from the F.P.R.A. and several C.A.S.E. awards recognizing the team's excellence.
