Troy Templeton is the managing partner of Trivest Partners, L.P., the oldest private equity firm in the southeastern U.S. Headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, Trivest focuses on partnering with founder/family-owned businesses in the United States and Canada. Since its founding in 1981, Trivest has completed more than 200 transactions, totaling over $5 billion in value.

Templeton was raised in Miami, Florida, and received his B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Stetson University in 1982 and 1983, respectively. He began his career in the commercial banking division of Southeast Bank, N.A., where he was responsible for the origination, underwriting and ongoing monitoring of commercial lending relationships. In 1989, he joined Trivest Partners as an assistant vice president, and subsequently rose through the organization, being named chief operating officer in 2002 and managing partner in 2007.

At Trivest, Templeton heads the firm's buyout activities, investment sourcing, resource allocation, portfolio oversight and overall firm administration. He designed and implemented the Trivest Calling Program, Scorecard and Just Say No campaign. For more than a decade, he has led the origination, structuring and financing of more than 50 acquisitions and exits. Templeton currently serves as chairman of numerous Trivest portfolio companies.

Outside of Trivest, Templeton serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Miami. He was elected to Stetson University's Board of Trustees in May 2014.
