Judge William Ray Holley began his legal career as an assistant state attorney, which was followed by working as in-house counsel for an international logistics corporation. In 2002, Holley joined the Law Office of Amy Warpinski, a Field Legal Office of Liberty Mutual Group, where his practice consisted of Florida and Georgia Workers Compensation with a secondary focus on automobile and premises liability. In 2010, Governor Charlie Crist appointed Holley as a Judge of Compensation Claims for the Jacksonville District to adjudicate workers’ compensation cases over an eight-county area. Judge Holley was recently reappointed by Governor Rick Scott for a second term that commenced in 2015.

Holley has been very active in the Stetson University Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2011 and currently serves as President. He attended Leadership Stetson in 2011 and has returned to speak on alumni engagement on several occasions. He has held leadership positions in various legal and community service organizations including Robert Williams American Inn of Court (President), Florida Conference of Judges of Compensation Claims (Board Member), Rotary Club of Southpoint (Past President), Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund Inc. (President and State Board Member), Temporary Loan Closet – Independent Living Center (Advisory Board Member), Florida Bar Workers Compensation Executive Committee (Board Member), and the Florida Bar Workers Compensation Rules Advisory Committee (Board Member).

Throughout his education and career, Judge Holley has received several awards including the J. Ollie Edmunds Service Award (Stetson University), Membership in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society (UNF), Raphael Steinhardt Award (Stetson College of Law), Meritorious Service Award (Stetson College of Law), Liberty Mutual Bravo Awards (2006 and 2010), Rotary Club of Southpoint’s Service Above Self Award (2006-2007), Platinum Awards from the American Inns of Court as President of the E. Robert Williams Inn (2013-2015), Best Alumni District Award – Stetson University (2012, 2013 & 2015), and Outstanding Alumni Representative Award – Stetson College of Law (2013).

Judge Holley has been married to his wife, Jacqueline, since 2001. They have two children – Charlotte (12) and Jennifer (10) – who are already making their plans to attend Stetson. Holley and family are members of the Assumption Catholic Church where they are active in their parish and diocese.
