Nestor de Armas enjoyed a career as a senior executive of a leading banking software company, where he founded and was Managing Director of that company's international business unit. Since managing the sale of the company in 2004, de Armas has been active in several business and nonprofit boards of directors. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Stetson and was tapped into ODK, the university's leadership honorary society. His wife, Donna, a son-in-law and two of their four daughters are also Stetson graduates. He is an alum of the Harvard Business School, having completed HBS's prestigious Owner/President Management Program in 1982. De Armas has served as president of the Alumni Association and has always been an active supporter of Stetson. He joined Stetson's Board of Trustees in 2001, served as chair from 2006 to 2010, and was named Trustee Emeritus in May 2011.
