Cindi Brownfield, APR

Director of News and Media Relations

Cindi Brownfield, APR, shares the Stetson story with the news media as director of news and media relations. In addition to writing news releases and offering stories to local and national media, Cindi writes for the SU magazine, website and newsletters and takes photos as part of the Stetson University Marketing team's efforts to promote the Stetson brand, recruit new students and donors, and celebrate the accomplishments of university graduates. She also serves on Stetson's Emergency Management Team.

A writer in journalism and public relations for 25 years, Cindi has served on the Stetson team since November 2004. Previously she was a news reporter at the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the Destin Log and Pensacola News Journal. Stetson's 2011 "Communicator of the Year," Cindi has won two awards from the Florida Public Relations Association and two awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She is a member and past board member of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of FPRA and a graduate of the University of Central Florida.

Mary Anne Rogers

Director of News and Public Relations

With 11 years of experience in public relations, Mary Anne is responsible for advancing Stetson's visibility with internal and external constituents by identifying and publicizing people, programs and events that best illustrate the Stetson brand. The coverage of Stetson's academic programs is divided between Mary Anne and colleague Cindi Brownfield. Reflective of her areas of interest, Mary Anne's "beat" includes the School of Music and the following areas within the College of Arts and Sciences: Theatre Arts, Humanities, the Arts, and Teacher and Counselor Education programs.

As Coordinating Editor of the university's new SU Today website, Mary Anne, also in collaboration with Cindi Brownfield, contributes to the official news and information sites, including content generation, design, effectiveness evaluation and upgrade. This includes maintaining the online university calendar, campus informational announcements via the SU Today website, as well as internal announcements accessible only through the Intranet. She also works with Creative Services on university publications and serves as the campus liaison for outside film production at Stetson.

With a B.A. from FSU, she worked for several years at another private university years prior to her Stetson experience. She joined SU in 1994, first in special events and then as the president's executive assistant for eight years before joining the PR team in 2004. She is a member of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, and several community partnership boards. Mary Anne was awarded the University's Problem Solver of the Year and Stetson's Community Service Council Member of the Year Award in 2003. While a member of Stetson's PR team, the office won several Image Awards from the FPRA and several CASE awards recognizing the team's excellence.
