What is FOCUS?

FOCUS is Stetson University’s unique Orientation Program.  Unlike any orientation you have ever been through, FOCUS stands for Friends On Campus Uniting Students.  This truly interactive and fun period will help  you,  your parents and family have a successful transition into Stetson University.

Each incoming student will be placed into a "FOCUS Group" of about 30 students. Each FOCUS Group is led by 2 outstanding upperclass students who have been at Stetson for at least a year and have a strong desire and passion to show new students the ropes. During orientation, students will be able to take care of all of their needs, such as meeting with their Academic Advisor, getting their Student ID and Parking Decal, setting up their email and Internet, and purchasing their books for class -- all while meeting new people, learning their way around campus and having fun!

But FOCUS doesn’t just stop after the first few days, it encompasses the entire first semester!  FOCUS Groups get back together throughout the semester for lots of fun events.  Events have included Stetson Athletic games, beach trips, attending lectures, grabbing lunch in the Commons, and much more!  Often times, the friendships that are made during FOCUS are the ones students hold closest to their hearts.

FOCUS is not only a program, it's an experience!
