Federal Work Study is available to students who qualify based
on financial need. Stetson University often has openings on campus for these
students to work. Students may fill these positions ONLY if they are eligible
for Federal Work Study, as Federal funds compensate the student. In order to
participate in the program, you must:
-
Complete the
FAFSA.
File
your Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA, for
the 0708 academic year. Because the program is need-based, this form will
determine your eligibility. The quickest way to fill out this form is online
at URL: www.fafsa.edu.gov/ . You must resubmit your FAFSA each academic year.
Once the initial form is completed, each year you may simply renew the form.
Please have the FAFSA completed as soon as possible after January 1 to be
reconsidered for financial aid, including work study, for the next academic
year.
-
Accept or decline the award if it has been offered to you.
Bannerweb will display all forms of aid, including
FWS. If FWS has been offered to you, and you are interested in the program,
you must accept. Your award amount for the academic year will be listed. If
you have submitted the FAFSA and FWS has not been offered to you, you may
contact the Financial Aid Office at 1-800-688-7120, and someone
will be more than happy to discuss your eligibility
status with you.
-
Check your mail!!
You will receive all instructions, notifications,
forms, and updates via mail to your
permanent address as well as your campus box. Make sure
that you are consistent about checking your mail to not miss opportunities and
deadlines.
