HOW TO BECOME A STUDENT ORGANIZATION

Steps to get recognized as a new student organization:
1. The group seeking recognition need to submit an application packet consisting of:
- A mission that compliments Stetson Univerisity's goals and values
- At least 3 currently enrolled Stetson student members
- A faculty or staff advisor (must be a full-time employee of Stetson University)
- An Organization Application Form, which is completed on OrgSync
- New Officer Training Packet to be completed by all 3 members, which is completed on OrgSync
- A Constitution for the proposed organization. Here is our standard constitution. If you would like to create a constitution from scratch please click here.
*Some exceptions to this process can be made for honorary associations and organizations designed strictly for graduate students*
2. Once the application form has been completed and the constitution has been submitted on OrgSync they will be reviewed by the Office of Student Involvement.
3. The President of the organization seeking recognition will be notified of approval by Office of Student Involvement through OrgSync. Please note that this process may take anywhere from two weeks to several months. Every application is reviewed on an individual basis and the Office of Student Involvement is dedicated organizational sustainability.
4. The newly recognized student organization officers and advisor will attend a welcome orientation provided by the Office of Student Involvement. AFTER that, you will gain all rights granted to recognized student organizations.
Steps for Navigating OrgSync
1. Visit orgsync.com. Log on to your existing account or create a new account if you have not yet registered on OrgSync. Make sure Stetson is selected as your community.
2. Click on "Organizations"
3. Select "Add Organization"
4. Choose "Register New Organization"
5. Select Office of Student Involvement as the umbrella and submit query
6. Now you are ready to start step 1 of gaining recognition!
