Community Conversations
During the past few months, events have occurred on our campus that have challenged and saddened all of us. It is important to have a conversation about these events, and continue to work towards positive change. On Monday February 18th a large "wall" of paper was erected and placed in the lobby of the Hollis Center. This wall provided students, faculty, and staff with a space to anonymously share their thoughts, questions, and concerns were used to start a conversation on issues of particular concern recently: safety, communication, and hate/bias-related incidents. Additionally thoughts, questions, and concerns were raised about issues ranging from Greek Life to diversity on campus. The Wall remained until Friday February 22nd. The first “Community Conversation” took place in the Hollis Center Rinker Field House on Wednesday February 27th. The audio recording of that session is available below for listening or downloading. All of the proceeding sessions have been posted here also. All new sessions will be advertised on campus and then posted online.
Session One - "Safety, Communication, and Hate/Bias related Incidents"
Session Three - "Diversity and Campus Life"
Session Four - "Finance and Facilities"
Next session - Fall 2008
