Assistant Provost for Student Success
Lua Hancock, Ed.D., is the assistant provost for student success. Hancock came to Stetson University in fall 2010 to lead the newly-formed Student Success initiative. Since that time, Student Success has evolved to include a number of areas that collaborate closely to support students in their journeys of success and significance. As part of Student Success, Hancock also works closely with the staffs of WORLD: The David and Leighan Rinker Center for International Learning and the Cross Cultural Center.
Hancock has nearly 15 years of experience in various aspects of higher education. She has a master of science degree in conflict analysis and resolution and a doctorate of education in higher education administration from Nova Southeastern University.
Student Success Specialist
Roxanne Lewis earned her master's degree in professional writing from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where she also served as the director of the TRiO Upward Bound Program. She moved to Florida in 2005 and spent several years providing environmental education in Orange County before returning to TRiO, working in Student Support Services at Daytona State College.
She spends her free time with family and friends hiking, kayaking and exploring nature.
Cherrell Smith joined Student Success from Florida State College at Jacksonville where she served in various administrative services roles for nine years. In addition to her experience in higher education administrative services and her passion for student success, she also holds a master of arts degree in education, concentrating in higher education.
In her free time, she enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends.
