Federal Work Study
Federal Work Study is available to students who qualify based on financial need. Stetson University often has openings on campus for these students to work. Students may fill these positions ONLY if they are eligible for Federal Work Study, as Federal funds compensate the student. In order to participate in the program, you must:
- Complete the FAFSA.
File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA. Because the program is need-based, this form will determine your eligibility. Please have the FAFSA completed as soon as possible after January 1 to be considered for financial aid, including work study.The quickest way to fill out this form is online at URL: www.fafsa.gov. You must resubmit your FAFSA each academic year. If you file online, once the initial form is completed,you may simply renew the form onlineeveryyear. - Accept or decline the award if it has been offered to you.
Bannerweb will display all forms of aid, including FWS. If FWS has been offered to you, and you are interested in the program, you must accept. Your award amount for the academic year will be listed. If you have submitted the FAFSA and FWS has not been offered to you, you may contact the Financial Aid Office at 1-800-688-7120, and someone will be more than happy to discuss your eligibility status with you. - Check your mail!!
You will receive all instructions, notifications, forms, and updates via mail to your permanent address as well as your campus box. Make sure that you are consistent about checking your mail to not miss opportunities and deadlines.
