Hints and Tips for Easy Registration
Registration on my.stetson.edu for the Spring 2012 term will begin Thursday, November 10th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Below are a few suggestions to prepare you for registration.
- Make sure you can log onto my.stetson.edu prior to your registration time. Your PIN to log onto my.stetson.edu is not the registration number given to you by your adviser. The number given to you by your adviser gives you access to the registration area of my.stetson.edu.
- Know your Registration Number and have it readily available. The Registrar's Office will NOT provide registration numbers to you. If you forget or misplace your Registration Number, please see your adviser or the department chair of your major.
- Know your time of registration. This is based on the total hours you currently have earned; it does not include the hours you are registered for now.
- If you want to take more than 18 hours (Arts and Science and Business) or 19 hours (Music), you must have prior approval from your Dean. You must bring the properly signed forms to the Registrar's office for us to enter this information.
- CHECK YOUR COURSES FOR PRE-REQUISITES. The system will not let you register for a course that has Pre-Req's if you have not taken the pre-requisite course. If you have waived (but not received credit for) any courses that are prerequisites for another, the system will not recognize that you have fulfilled the requirement. The instructor of the course will have to override the pre-req requirement for her or his course.
- Independent Studies must be brought to the Registrar's Office to be entered into the system.
- If you plan to register for a course that you used for Course Exclusion; have been given permission to retake a course under the Course Retake policy;late dropped (received a grade of "X") a course, or retake a course from which you have withdrawn, the system will think you are repeating a course. You must see the instructor for a repeat override.
- WAITLIST - If a course has electronic waitlist. Click here to find out what to do.
