Parking
Stetson University does not have enough parking spaces available to make this a "driving" campus. Resident students will be issued a parking permit to park close to their assigned residential hall. Commuter students will be provided with parking spaces as close as possible to classrooms. Residential students should consider their vehicles as a means of transportation to off-campus activities, and not as a means of getting from the residence halls to class or other on-campus locations.
You will have five days, beginning with the first day of classes, to register your vehicle. If you fail to do so, you will be given a non-registration citation. Failure to register will result in your vehicle being towed from campus.
Your vehicle is your responsibility. If you "loan" your vehicle to a friend and they park it in an area other than where it is authorized, you will be responsible for any citations that the vehicle receives.
Vehicles will be subject to being towed from university property when:
- The vehicle is parked in a fire lane.
- The vehicle is parked in a handicapped parking space
- The vehicle is parked in a restricted space marked as a tow away zone.
- The vehicle is parked in such a manner as to create a hazard to other traffic, or it is blocking a roadway or gate.
- The registered operator has been warned via email that they have had numerous parking citations and any additional offenses will result in their vehicle being towed.
- The operator of the vehicle fails to register the vehicle and has already received four citations for non-registration. The fifth offense will result in the vehicle being towed from campus.
In all cases where your vehicle has been towed, you will be responsible for payment to the towing company for the towing fee and any additional storage fees.
