Only one zone designation (permit) will be assigned to each applicant. All vehicles must be parked in their designated zone. Students may use faculty/staff spaces for parking between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. weekdays and anytime during the weekend. Resident parking spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Visitors Parking Areas

Visitors, deemed as someone who is not a student, faculty, or staff, are permitted to park in certain areas on campus. Unless prior arrangements have been made, visitors are asked to get a visitors pass from the Division of Public Safety upon arriving on campus to display in their vehicle. Visitors may park in Faculty/Staff, Commuter spaces or designated visitor parking lots if they have obtained a visitor’s pass from Public Safety to be displayed on their dashboard. Visitor parking areas are located at the CUB Circle, Allen Hall, Stover Theatre, Intramural Field, Mandy Stoll Tennis Courts, Public Safety, across from Gillespie Museum and across from the Edmunds Center. Public Safety is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located at 405 N. Amelia Ave. on the corner of Michigan and Amelia. Violation of these guidelines are subject to ticketing and towing. Those specifically visiting for Admissions purposes are asked to use the Admissions visitor spaces located outside of Griffith Hall which are accessible from the Admissions entrance on Woodland Blvd. just north of the main gates. Admissions staff will issue a temporary pass to be displayed on the visitor's dashboard.  Those specifically visiting the Wilson Athletic Center are asked to use the Visitor lot located across from the Edmunds Center which is accessible from Pennsylvania Ave. The general visitor parking area located between the CUB and the Print Shop is still in force outside of business hours and are available to visitors ONLY. Visitors outside of business hours are required to acquire a visitors pass from the Division of Public Safety. Visitors are not allowed to park in Residential parking areas. Violation of these guidelines are subject to ticketing and towing.

 

Handicapped Parking

Vehicles parked in handicapped-designated spaces must display a State-issued disabled parking permit. Handicapped parking areas are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Medical Permits

If you have a temporary medical condition which limits your walking distances, you can obtain a temporary permit from the Public Safety Office which will provide special parking privileges for a stated period of time dependent on your medical problem. This permit must be obtained prior to the registrant's deviating from parking where their permit allows. Citations received by individuals who claim to have a medical excuse, but who have failed to notify Public Safety, may be held valid. In order to verify your medical problem, you will need to bring a note to the Public Safety Office from a doctor, or a member of the Student Health Center staff, stating your limitations. Medical permits can be obtained from the Division of Public Safety.  There is no charge for this permit.

 

Temporary Permits

If you will have a motor vehicle on campus for a period of less than 14 days, you can obtain a temporary permit at no charge. If you will be operating the motor vehicle on campus for more than 14 days, you must obtain a regular permit and pay the appropriate fees. This service applies to substitute vehicles when yours is being repaired, a parent's vehicle that was loaned to you at the beginning or end of the term, and other similar circumstances. Temporary Permits can be obtained from the Division of Public Safety.  There is no charge for this permit.

 

Motorcycles/Mopeds

  1. Motorcycles and mopeds still require a parking decal and may park in the special designated areas throughout the campus marked with motorcycle parking signage or may park in a standard parking spaces in their appropriate zone.
  2. Motorcycles and mopeds may not be driven on walkways or landscaped areas. They may not be parked on porches, walkways, landscaped areas or any other area not designated above.
