What is a Stetson Today announcement?
- A group e-mail
- Sent Monday through Thursday
- About policies, opportunities or events
- Directly related to campus
- With a definite Stetson sponsorship or connection
- Relevant to faculty, staff, students and/or retirees
How do I request one?
Keep in mind:
- Submit early - at least 1 week before your event
- Give complete Contact Information: Name, position/title, e-mail address, phone number and organization or department
- Choose the correct Campus Sponsor
- Who should approve your announcement?
Administration, Admissions, Athletics, Campus Life-Other Departments, Campus Life-Student Activities, Club Sports, College of Arts & Sciences, Community Service, Facilities, Finance, First Year Studies, Provost, School of Business Administration, School of Music, University Development
- If you're not sure, ask your advisor
- Choose your Audience - Who should receive your news? Students, faculty, staff, retirees?
- When should we send your announcement?
- At least 1 to 2 days before your event
- Only one announcement can be sent per event, so pick the best date
- What do you want to say?
- Grab their attention! Start with a great headline.
- Give the essentials: Who, What, Where, When (date and time).
- Include a quote to make it interesting.
- Use several methods to publicize your news
- Add it to the University Calendar
- Post signs around campus
- Put table tents in the Commons
- Word-of-mouth advertising
- Tweet about it
- Post it on Stetson Facebook
- Tell the Stetson Reporter newspaper
- Late or incomplete submissions may be rejected, and submissions may be edited, rejected or removed without notice.
