"Oscar Bluemner: The Making of an American Modernist Painter" will focus on Bluemner's transformation from architect to painter, from German to American, from romantic to Impressionist to Post-Impressionist to Modernist. The 23 works to be shown will be from the late 19th century through the 1910s. A spring exhibition will feature works from the 1920s until Bluemner's death in 1938. |
