Guidelines for use of the Stetson University 125th anniversary commemorative wordmark

THE WORDMARK
- The wordmark must appear in its entirety on all official Stetson University publications without exception.
- The wordmark may not be smaller than one and seven-eighths (1 7/8) inches in length when printed.
- The wordmark may not be broken up, re-created, retyped, distorted or altered in any way.
- A "safe space" of at least 1/3 the height of the wordmark should be free of type, artwork, lines, photographs and other graphic elements.
PRIMARY COLOR PALETTE
The official colors of Stetson University are forest green and white. These colors were chosen early in the university's history from the green leaves and white blossoms of the orange tree.
Stetson's official 125th anniversary graphics may appear only in "Stetson green," black, white or gold. The PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM ® color designated as "Stetson green" is PANTONE ® 342 for coated and non-coated paper. The Pantone system is a universal color standard used by the printing and design industries.
The Stetson color palette must be the primary colors in pieces that promote the university, target prospective students, or reach a wide audience.

UNACCEPTABLE USES OF OFFICIAL GRAPHICS
- Do not alter graphics or use another color palette.
- Do not skew, stretch, rotate or outline official graphics.
- Do not re-scale, remove or rearrange portions of the logos.
- Do not apply special effects to Stetson graphics, place them over distracting backgrounds, use them as a watermark, or otherwise interfere with their readability.
THE TYPEFACE
The primary typeface for Stetson University is Goudy Old Style BT. If Goudy Old Style BT is unavailable on your computer, Goudy Old Style or Goudy are acceptable substitutes. Goudy Old Style BT should be used widely throughout official Stetson publications and is recommended for most body copy.
When a second typeface is necessary, Arial or Arial Narrow are recommended. If they are unavailable Helvetica or Helvetica Condensed may be substituted.
Within the Goudy Old Style BT and Arial type families, text may be highlighted by varying the size or applying bold, italic, bold-italic, or small caps. Do not overuse these variations, because by emphasizing everything, nothing stands out.
Use of caps is not recommended for sentences or long phrases because it reduces text readability.
Use of three or more typefaces in a single publication is not recommended, as it can be distracting to the reader.
