Estate Planning

Creating an estate plan is a careful, thoughtful process. Information on our website may help you with the charitable aspects of estate planning. Feel free to contact us with questions or for more information.

Charitable estate planning can help you to:

  • Plan for the financial security for your family and friends
  • Provide for charitable organizations, such as Stetson University, that have meant the most to you during your lifetime
  • Leave a personal legacy that incorporates your values and beliefs
  • Be "tax-wise"

If you have informed us that Stetson University is included in your estate plan, thank you. Your gift is an investment in future Stetson University students, and will be used to assist the university in preparing them to lead significant lives.

If you have provided for the university in your estate plan but have not informed us, please notify the Office of Gift Planning. We would be pleased to welcome you into the Stetson Society! This is the university's way of showing appreciation to people who help secure its financial future. All information given to us about your estate plan is kept strictly confidential.

Sharing information about your estate plan provision benefiting the university adds to Stetson University's Planned Giving Inventory (PGI), which is an important indicator of future support used by the Board of Trustees, administration and faculty.

Estate gifts provide countless opportunities for you to support the university, regardless of the gift's amount. Gifts can be unrestricted or designated for a specific department or program at either the DeLand or Gulfport campus.

You CAN make a difference in the future of Stetson University and its students!

Thank you,
