WebGarage is an Web site builder, located on Stetson University's Web site. Users can build official Stetson University Web pages, using the official template. No knowledge of HTML, or FTP is required. We are adding more tools to WebGarage, while working to make it compatible with a wider range of systems.
How it all works... Every new web page created by WebGarage is built from four parts: a Header, a Footer, a Menu, and a Content area. In order to achieve a uniformed look, WebGarage only allows you to edit the Menu and Content areas, thereby making it a three step process: creating the left side menu, choosing the content to fill the page, and saving your work.
Step 1: Create the Menu The left side menu is both a way to navigate your web site and a quick reference to other pages relevent to the one being viewed. Make sure that you plan out how you would like users to navigate your site before starting. At this step you will be asked for the names and links to fill in the menu.
Step 2 : Create the Content Your web page's content is the singular most important area of the web page. Make sure that you clearly express to the user what message you wish them to take away from the web page before they move on. At this step you will be give the option to choose how you wish to communicate your message to the end user through various templates or an import.
Step 3 : Save and view your work During the final step you can verify your work and save to an appropriate place within your site. You may come back to this step at any time once you have saved.
