Computer Labs

The Office of Information Technology operates six general access computer labs at the DeLand campus. These labs are equipped with high-speed laser printers, CD/DVD drives, USB ports, Microsoft Windows 7 and numerous software applications.

Lab assistants are available to assist students with basic computer and printer operations in the computer labs located in the duPont-Ball Library, Davis Hall, Elizabeth Hall and Flagler Hall. Computing resources are available to students 24 hours a day in the duPont-Ball Library Lab and the Cyber Lounge, located in the Lynn Business Center; please see the "Accessing the Computer Labs" section below for details on accessing these labs after hours.

Labs operate on a modified schedule during holidays, finals week and the summer semester. All reservations are posted outside each lab at the beginning of the week. All other changes are posted at least one week in advance.

Computer Lab Policies

  • You are responsible for reading and abiding by all signs posted in the labs.
  • You must present your Stetson University ID each time you enter the computer labs. Access to the computer labs will not be given without a valid Stetson University ID and network account.
  • No food or drink, opened or unopened, is permitted in the labs at any time.
  • Lab assistants are present to assist with the computer lab technology. They are not allowed to interpret class assignments or help with your homework.
  • Large quantities of fliers, banners or other distribution material are not to be printed in the computer labs. Large print jobs should be taken to the university's Print Shop.
  • The computer labs are an academic resource. Games, chat software, etc. are not permitted.

Locations and Hours

Please note that lab hours may be modified at any time to accommodate class schedules and reservations. These times are posted on the doors of each lab. Labs may be closed between semesters, during breaks, etc.

Lab Availability

  • Labs will be closed on August 30 - September 1, 2014 for Labor Day Holiday, October 9-12, 2014 for Fall Break, and November 26-30, 2014 for Thanksgiving Holiday
  • Labs close at conclusion of the Fall 2014 semester on December 12, 2014 at 5 p.m.
  • Labs will reopen for the Spring 2015 semester on January 12, 2015
  • Labs will be closed on January 17-19, 2015 for Martin Luther King Holiday, February 28 - March 8, 2015 for Spring Holidays, April 3-5, 2015 for Good Friday Holiday
  • Labs close at conclusion of Spring 2015 semester on May 5th at 5:00pm

Printing

All of the computer labs are equipped with laser printers, available for student use for academic purposes only. Students are not billed for printing, but are asked to be environmentally sensitive by condensing page counts. Large quantities of fliers, banners or other distribution material are not to be printed in the computer labs. Large print jobs should be taken to the university's Print Shop.

If you notice that the toner or paper is running low in a printer, please bring it to the attention of the lab staff or contact the I.T. Help Desk.

Accessing the Computer Labs

The Cyber Lounge in the Lynn Business Center (LBC) is equipped with software that the majority of students will need for their academic work and is available 24 hours a day using your student ID card at the card-swipe access point located at the front doors of the LBC.

Also, the computer lab located on the ground floor of the duPont-Ball Library is available 24 hours a day using your student ID card at the card-swipe access point.

Reserving a Computer Lab

Some of the computer labs may be reserved for use by groups or classes. Lab sizes vary from 12 to 30 computers and different labs are equipped with different software during different semesters, depending on needs.
