Below are the current approved Housing Rates. Rates for upcoming years will be approved by the Board of Trustees and posted online in the Spring term prior to the start of a new academic year.  A 2% - 5% increase in housing rates can be expected each year.

Summer Housing is hosted yearly in one or more of our Residential Apartment Areas; Stetson Cove, Stetson Oaks, Stetson Palms, and University Village Apartments.  These buildings offer a variety of apartment-style housing options including individual bedrooms and 2-person shared bedrooms.  The layouts for these units can range from 1-bedroom to 4-bedroom apartments depending on the building.  You can review the different Residential Building layouts and learn more about Summer Housing on our website.  Summer Housing Applications are available on Housing Central beginning February 1st.  

Winter Break 2023 Housing Rate

$580.00 Flat Fee*

Winter Break Housing is available to all residents assigned to university housing for both the Fall and Spring semesters are eligible for Winter Break Housing. The Winter Break Housing period is between the Fall Semester "Residence Halls Close" date and the Spring Semester "Residence Halls Open (All Students)" date on the University Academic Calendar. Winter Housing Applications are available on Housing Central beginning November 1st. 

Residents that submit a Winter Housing Application and are approved for Winter Break Housing will be allowed to remain in their assigned housing and will not be required to move to an alternate housing location during the break. 

 

*Residents assigned Apartment Complexes (Stetson Cove, Stetson Oaks, Stetson Palms, and University Village Apartments residents) are not subject to a Winter Break Housing fee as this amount is already factored into the semester housing rate for campus apartments. 

Early Arrival Housing Fee

$100.00 Per Day 

Approved Early Arrival Organizations, Teams, Groups
Residents who are part of an approved organization, athletic team, or university group that are approved to move into the residential buildings prior to the official semester move-in date, will be granted an Approved Early Arrival at no charge.  Group leaders will reach out to Residential Living and Learning with an approved participant list and a specific approved early arrival date.  Approved residents will receive an official Early Arrival Approval email to their Stetson email account.  If you believe that you should be included on one of these participant lists, please contact your organization, athletic team, or university group leader for confirmation before arriving on campus. If any residents must move in before their approved organization, team or group arrival date, they must submit a Request for Early Arrival Housing (see below).

Requests for Early Arrival Housing
Residents that have extenuating circumstances that require an arrival date prior to the official semester move-in date or prior to their approved organization, team or group arrival date (see above), must submit a Request for Early Arrival Housing on Housing Central.  Requests are reviewed by Residential Living and Learning and an official decision is provided via Stetson email. Only students with approved Early Arrival Housing will be permitted to access their assigned housing prior to the official semester move-in date.  Students that move in early without approval will be subject to a fine and a possible student conduct hearing.

Late Stay Housing Fee

$50.00 Per Day

After a resident moves out of an assigned space in the residential buildings, the Resident Assistant and/or Residential Life Coordinator will complete a walkthrough of the space, noting any damages.  Damages may include physical damages to the residential room, suite or apartment and/or failure of a resident to complete the required move-out procedures.  The resident(s) will be notified via email of the damages and the associated charge(s) will be placed on the resident(s) accounts.  Below is a list of the most common damages assessed upon a resident checkout.

Damage Fee Description
Improper Checkout $100 Failure to complete all checkout procedures and return residential keys.
Excessive Cleaning $25 - $50 Fee varies based on the time required to clean the space.
Abandoned Property $40 per Bag Fee is assessed per trash bag required to remove belongings.
Furniture Reset $25 per Item Fee is assessed per furniture item that must be reset within the space, including the de-lofting bed.
Lost Keys Varies by Building Please see the Lock Change Fee Chart for pricing based on location.
Paint Wall  $75 per Wall Fee is assessed per wall that requires painting. 

While Campus Parking is managed by Public Safety, we wanted to make sure our residents that will be bringing their vehicle to campus remember to request a parking pass.  All vehicles parked in an official university parking lot must have a Stetson Parking Pass.  There are reserved residential parking lots for our campus residents, so be sure to request your pass and avoid a ticket!

Our Housing Rates are based on the many different housing styles on campus, so it is important to know what type of housing you are requesting!  Below is an explanation of the different styles of housing available to you.

Shared Bedroom | Community-Style Bathroom

Shared bedrooms with community bathrooms are the most common style of housing on campus. Almost all first-year students will live in this style of housing for their first year. Shared bedrooms house two residents with two full sets of residential furniture.  Community-style housing offers a community-style bathroom shared with the residents on your floor, a community laundry room, a community lounge, and a community kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.  Many of our community-style residential buildings also provide quiet study nooks and rooms. Community-style bathrooms and community spaces are cleaned and maintained by our Custodial Team with University Facilities. 

Individual Bedroom | Community-Style Bathroom

Individual bedrooms are typically assigned exclusively to upper-class students and students with approved Housing ADA/Accommodations.  Individual rooms house one resident with one full set of residential furniture. Community-style housing offers a community-style bathroom shared with the residents on your floor, a community laundry room, a community lounge, and a community kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.  Many of our community-style residential buildings also provide quiet study nooks and rooms. Community-style bathrooms and community spaces are cleaned and maintained by our Custodial Team with University Facilities. 

Large Individual Bedroom | Community-Style Bathroom

Large individual bedrooms are traditional shared rooms that have been reclassified as individual bedrooms. These rooms house one resident with two full sets of residential furniture. The furniture can be rearranged by the resident as long as it is returned to its original configuration before the resident moves out. All furniture must remain in the room and cannot be removed or stored elsewhere.  Community-style housing offers a community style bathroom shared with the residents on your floor, a community laundry room, a community lounge, and a community kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.  Many of our community-style residential buildings also provide quiet study nooks and rooms. Community-style bathrooms and community spaces are cleaned and maintained by our Custodial Team with University Facilities. 

Shared Bedroom | Suite/Private-Style Bathroom

Shared bedrooms house two residents with two full sets of residential furniture. Bathrooms that are suite-style will have a sink/vanity, and full shower.  The showers are either full walk-in style or a combination bathtub and full shower depending on your building location.  The layout for suite-style bathrooms is typically two residential bedrooms connected by a full-suite bathroom. The layout for private-style bathrooms is a residential bedroom connected to a private full bathroom.  Suite-style and private-style bathrooms are cleaned and maintained by the residents assigned to the connected bedrooms.  Shower curtains are provided at the start of the term and residents will clean and/or replace the curtains, as needed. In addition, these buildings provide residents with a community laundry room, a community lounge, and a community kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.  Many of our suite-style residential buildings also provide quiet study nooks and rooms. 

Individual Bedroom | Suite/Private-Style Bathroom

Individual bedrooms are typically assigned exclusively to upper-class students and students with approved Housing ADA/Accommodations.  Individual rooms house one resident with one full set of residential furniture. The layout for suite-style bathrooms is typically two residential bedrooms connected by a full suite bathroom. The layout for private-style bathrooms is a residential bedroom connected to a private full bathroom.  Suite-style and private-style bathrooms are cleaned and maintained by the residents assigned to the connected bedrooms.  Shower curtains are provided at the start of the term and residents will clean and/or replace the curtains, as needed. In addition, these buildings provide residents with a community laundry room, a community lounge, and a community kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and full-size refrigerator.  Many of our suite-style residential buildings also provide quiet study nooks and rooms. 

Large Individual Bedroom | Suite-Style Bathroom

Shared Bedroom | Apartment-Style Bathroom

Shared bedrooms house two residents with two full sets of residential furniture. Apartment-style bathrooms are shared between two to four residents assigned to the apartment. Apartment-style bathrooms are cleaned and maintained by the residents assigned to the apartment.  Shower curtains are provided at the start of the term and residents will clean and/or replace the curtains, as needed. Each apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, living room, and access to a community laundry room.  In addition, our apartment areas provide outdoor community space and dog-walk areas. 

Stetson Cove, Stetson Oaks, and Stetson Palms have one-bedroom apartment units shared by two students. Additionally, Stetson Oaks Apartments has some two-bedroom units with shared bedrooms, as well. The semester housing rate for apartments includes the winter break housing period. Should a resident assigned to an apartment wish to remain on campus for part or all of the winter break period, they will not be charged an additional winter break housing fee. 

Individual Bedroom | Apartment-Style Bathroom

Individual bedrooms are typically assigned exclusively to upper-class students and students with approved Housing ADA/Accommodations.  Individual rooms house one resident with one full set of residential furniture. Apartment-style bathrooms are cleaned and maintained by the residents assigned to the apartment.  Shower curtains are provided at the start of the term and residents will clean and/or replace the curtains, as needed. Each apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, living room, and access to a community laundry room.  In addition, our apartment areas provide outdoor community space, dog-walk areas, and University Village Apartments offer a community clubhouse.

University Village Apartments (UVA) primarily offers four-bedroom, two-bathroom units (Hon, 300, Lynn and Rinker Halls) with a limited number of two-bedroom, two-bathroom units (Maxcy Hall). Stetson Cove primarily offers two-bedroom, one-bathroom units, some spaces have an additional half-bath (Buildings 1 and 3). Stetson Oaks offers some two-bedroom apartments with one bathroom for three students (Buildings 2).  The semester rental rate for apartments includes the winter break housing period. Should a resident assigned to an apartment wish to remain on campus for part or all of the winter break period, they will not be charged an additional winter break housing fee.
