| Why We Give: Publix Super Markets Charities | ||
|
Publix Super Markets Charities has a long history of support for Stetson University’s educational mission. A loyal member of the Stetson Presidential Counsellor’s Gold Circle, Publix Super Markets Charities has contributed more than $530,000 to the University in a donor relationship that has spanned more than 40 years.
Publix Founder George Jenkins believed that an investment in education was an investment in the future. He incorporated this belief into his business philosophy – community involvement and generosity of spirit have become hallmarks of the Publix corporate culture.
Publix Super Markets Charities’ most recent donation of $10,000 is earmarked for Stetson’s Annual Fund – 100% of this amount goes toward scholarships. Contributions such as these make a definite difference in the lives of Stetson students. Publix philanthropy has contributed to scholarships for students in the College of Arts and Sciences, and in the Schools of Business Administration, and Music. The company also participates in Stetson’s Matching Gifts Program which has resulted in gifts of $59,950 since 1995.
Stetson appreciates the longstanding support of foundation partners such as Publix Super Markets Charities. Without this type of generous support, our University could not maintain its tradition of academic excellence. |
